Major League Dodgeball (MLD) is expanding its Central Division and is actively seeking team owners across the south-central United States—including Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Kansas, and Tennessee. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to build a professional dodgeball franchise from the ground up and create long-term value for your players, fans, sponsors, and community.
Approved applicants will receive an exclusive team license to participate in all Central Division events. License holders retain full ownership of their teams and may sell or transfer their license with MLD approval. For a limited time, there is no cost for acquiring a team license.
What We’re Looking For
Teams must adopt a professional identity, including a name, logo, and jerseys. Like in other major sports leagues, team branding should reflect either a geographic location (e.g., Dallas Drifters), a cause (e.g., Houston Pride), or a sponsor/brand (e.g., Amazon Prime). A strong brand helps attract top-tier players, loyal fans, business sponsors, and community support.
Available Markets and Divisions
Team licenses are currently open in all south-central markets. The following major cities are limited to two city-named teams per division (e.g., Dallas Drifters, Dallas Dodgers):
- Austin
- Dallas
- Houston
- New Orleans
- San Antonio
All other cities, towns, and suburbs are limited to one team per division.
Teams may compete in the following divisions:
- Open Pro
- Open Semi-Pro
- Women’s Pro
- Women’s Semi-Pro

Interested team owners should email Commissioner Tom Wakefield at mldodgeball@gmail.com with the following:
- Your name
- Relevant experience (dodgeball or other sports management/organizing)
- Preferred city/town/region, brand, or cause
- Proposed team name
